Many authors and poets have written about the art of being a flaneur. French in origin, the word flaneur denotes someone who is an acute observer of life. The word carried a set of rich associations including "a person of leisure, an urban explorer, or a connoisseur of the street". Walter Benjamin the philosopher once described the flaneur as "the essential figure of the modern urban spectator". The writer Victor Fournel added the flaneur is "always in full possession of his individuality".
Based on the classic combination of coffees sourced from Brazil and Colombia, our Flaneur blend makes for moments of contemplation. Neither overly fruity or bitterly strong, it presents comforting flavours of Malteser-like milk chocolate and malt. Warmingly satisfying yet leaves room for another cup. It is the ideal coffee for those occasions when time is immaterial, like watching the world pass by, like a flaneur!
