Colombia Popayan EA Decaf!
Produced by small lot farmers along the Popayan Plateau in Colombia's Cauca region, this coffee was handpicked, pulped and washed at each contributing farm. The coffee sold to a local dry mill in parchment form where it undergoes a selection process and preparation for export grade.
The decaffeination was performed in Colombia by Descafecol, using natural ethyl acetate from sugar cane plants (hence why this process is also known as the "sugar cane process"). Ethyl acetate used in this process is naturally occurring and is common in fruits.
The result is decaffeinated coffee which is clean and sweet with chocolate and caramel flavours, and a hint of fruitiness.
Sounds like a crowd pleaser, wouldn’t you say?
